Live casts of the face can quickly become very dangerous, so it's important to have one or more people present who know how to check in with the model and make sure they are constantly safe and comfortable. NEVER perform a face cast on yourself (especially if you are alone), even if you have been formally trailed. There are many stories I could tell of people being too comfortable with their abilities, deciding to do one without help, and in turn, accidentally trapping their own face in alginate and stone. It's best to avoid situations like those all together.
My models lips were warped during the alginate process in this particular cast, but it only needed some minor sculpting to fix, and didn't take more than 5 minutes to bring her back to life.
It's important to build the clay up as smoothly as possible, the clay build is what makes a live cast go from eh to ooh.
I hope some of you might be able to use my photos as reference! if you have any questions or if you would like to inquire about the different services I offer feel free to contact me here.
